‘Unprovoked attack’ at a retail store in Tilbury, assault charges laid

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 8, 2025, at approximately 8:48 p.m., Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to an assault at a retail store in Tilbury.

A 34-year-old male from Chatham-Kent, who had previously been identified as trespassing on the property, returned and assaulted the business owner in an unprovoked attack.

The victim sustained minor injuries that did not require medical attention.

Chatham-Kent Police officers quickly located the accused nearby.

He was arrested and transported to the police headquarters.

While in custody, the accused became irate and spat on a Special Constable.

He was charged with the following:

– Assault

– Assault Peace Officer
