Chatham man arrested after skipping court on break-in charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 27-year-old man is facing multiple charges after he was arrested for failing to appear in court.

The charges stem from a May 22 break and enter on Northland Drive, where a contractor found the man inside an unoccupied home.

The suspect fled but was later found hiding nearby with stolen property.

He was initially arrested and released with conditions but failed to attend his June 12 court date. On June 26 at 7:58 p.m., officers located and arrested him on Fifth Street.

He remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing
