Driver charged with impaired operation in Chatham parking lot

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 28-year-old man is facing impaired driving charges after Chatham-Kent police responded to a call for assistance in a parking lot on St. Clair Street early July 4.

Officers noticed signs of impairment, and the man failed a roadside screening test.

Breath tests later showed readings of 170 mg and 150 mg of alcohol per 100 mL of blood.

He was charged with operation while impaired and released with a court date set for July 22.
