CKPL invites teens to join retro-themed summer reading fun

Teens aged 12 to 18 are invited to join the Teen Summer Reading Club at Chatham-Kent Public Library (CKPL) for a chance to win prizes and enjoy retro-themed activities throughout the summer.

Participants will receive a ballot for every item borrowed, with additional chances to win by attending library programs. Each CKPL branch will feature a prize pack that includes a vintage-style Bluetooth speaker.

CKPL is also launching an Instagram Photo Challenge, open to all ages. Library users are encouraged to tag @ckplibrary and use #2025ckplsummer when posting photos of books, programs, games, or vacation reading featuring CKPL materials.

All draws, programs, and activities are free to join.

This year’s theme brings a nostalgic twist, with rotating activities offered at all 11 CKPL branches during open hours:

June 30–July 12: Postcard activity, Instagram Photo Challenge, and a Lisa Frank colouring station

July 14–July 26: Postcard activity, Instagram Photo Challenge, and a cassette bookmark craft

July 28–August 9: Postcard activity, Instagram Photo Challenge, and a ’90s cartoon drawing station

August 11–August 29: Postcard activity, Instagram Photo Challenge, and an origami station
