Bicycle stop leads to multiple weapons charges

Sarnia Police Service officials alleg:L A man is facing multiple criminal charges after being stopped by police for a Highway Traffic Act violation on the evening of July 14, 2025.

At approximately 9:20 p.m., a member of the Offender Management Unit observed a cyclist without a light near Exmouth Street and Barclay Drive. During the stop, officers discovered the individual was carrying two concealed knives.

Further investigation revealed the man was bound by multiple court orders, including two weapon prohibition orders. He was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing.

The accused is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, four counts of possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order, failing to comply with a probation order, and disobeying a court-ordered peace bond.

Police are also working to determine the ownership of the bicycle involved and are asking anyone with information to contact Sarnia Police.
