Man dies after being struck by vehicle in Sarnia

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: A 32-year-old Sarnia man has died after being struck by a vehicle on East Street North late Saturday night.

Police said they were called just after 11 p.m. on Sept. 13 to the collision, where they found the man injured in the roadway. Two off-duty nurses were performing CPR when Lambton EMS and Sarnia Fire arrived to take over life-saving measures. The man was later pronounced dead.

The vehicle, which had been travelling southbound on East Street just north of Cameron Street, struck the man while he was in the roadway. The driver stopped immediately and remained at the scene.

The roadway has since reopened, but the incident remains under investigation by the Sarnia Police traffic services unit. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
