Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 42-year-old Chatham woman has been arrested after failing to attend a scheduled court date earlier this year.
On March 16, police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Wyandott Street in Chatham. Surveillance footage showed two people trying car door handles in an attempt to get into parked vehicles.
A 35-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman, both from Chatham, were arrested and charged with trespassing at night and attempted theft under $5,000. They were released with a court date of April 14, which they failed to attend. Warrants were later issued for their arrest.
On Sept. 22, at about 11:30 a.m., officers located and arrested the 42-year-old woman. She was additionally charged with failing to comply with an undertaking. She was later released with a court date of Oct. 23.
An outstanding warrant remains in effect for the 35-year-old man.
