Wallaceburg man charged with breaching court order

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 42-year-old Leamington man is facing charges after police say he breached conditions of a court order.

The man had entered into a conditional sentence order on Sept. 11 in Chatham-Kent, requiring him to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

On Sept. 22, just before 7 p.m., police responded to an altercation on Bruce Street in Wallaceburg. Officers found the man at the scene and learned he was under several court conditions that prohibited him from contacting a 42-year-old Wallaceburg woman involved in the incident.

Police say the man failed to comply with his conditions and was charged with two counts of failure to comply with an undertaking.

He was taken to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
