Shelter-in-place lifted after armed individual taken into custody in Kettle Point

Lambton OPP officials allege: Police say an armed individual is in custody after an incident in Kettle Point on Saturday morning that prompted a temporary shelter-in-place order.

The Ontario Provincial Police’s Lambton detachment assisted Anishinabek Police Services during the response. The order was issued around 10:25 a.m. and lifted shortly after the suspect was taken into custody.

Police said a heavy police presence remained in the area for some time. Lake Road and Centre Side Road stayed closed as the on-scene investigation took place.
