Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 29-year-old Chatham man wanted in connection with a theft from a Wellington Street West store earlier this month has been arrested.
Police say the man took merchandise from a retail store on Oct. 1, concealing items and leaving without paying. A warrant was later issued for theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.
On Oct. 9 at about 10:20 p.m., officers located the man during a person stop on King Street West and arrested him on the outstanding warrant.
He was taken to police headquarters, then released with conditions and a court date of Nov. 17.
