Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 44-year-old Blenheim man wanted in connection with a weapons incident earlier this month turned himself in at police headquarters early Thursday.
The charges stem from a Nov. 8 dispute on Highland Drive in Chatham that escalated into a physical altercation between two men, police said. During the incident, the Blenheim man allegedly displayed a firearm before leaving the area in a vehicle. Officers later obtained video surveillance of the events and issued a warrant for his arrest on several weapons-related offences.
He surrendered at Chatham-Kent police headquarters around 4:50 a.m. on Nov. 13 and is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon and using a firearm while committing an offence. He is being held for bail.
