Lambton OPP warn residents after reports of door-to-door paving scam

OPP officials allege: Provincial police are warning residents to be cautious after reports of door-to-door paving scams in several parts of Lambton County.

The Lambton OPP said homeowners have been approached by individuals offering discounted driveway paving, often using high-pressure tactics to push for quick decisions. In many cases, police said the work is either poor quality, overpriced or abandoned before completion. Some suspects have also demanded cash payments upfront.

Police are urging residents to be wary of unsolicited offers at their door and to take time before agreeing to any work. They recommend asking for written estimates, checking references and avoiding full payment until the job is completed to their satisfaction. Anyone who feels something is suspicious is encouraged to trust their instincts.

Residents who encounter suspicious individuals or believe they have been targeted can contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Police say they remain committed to preventing fraud and protecting the community.
