Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 22-year-old man from Woodstock was arrested for public intoxication following a disturbance in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officers responded to a call in the area of Eventide Place on Dec. 31, 2025, at approximately 11:49 p.m. Upon arrival, officers located the man, who was visibly intoxicated and causing a disturbance in the area.
Police determined the individual was unable to care for himself and posed a risk to public safety. He was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters.
Once sober, the man was released with a provincial offence notice.
