Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Chatham youth is facing a charge after a dispute at a residence earlier this month.
On Jan. 2, 2026, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a reported dispute at a home on Edgar Street. Officers attempted to de-escalate a verbal argument between two youths. During the interaction, a 16-year-old male from Chatham allegedly damaged property belonging to the victim in the presence of police.
The youth was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000. He was transported to police headquarters and later released with conditions, with a court appearance scheduled for Feb. 18, 2026.
