Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 26-year-old man from Harwich Township has been arrested and charged following an intimate partner violence investigation in Chatham.
Police said officers responded early Jan. 10 to a report of an unwanted individual at a residence. The man had left before police arrived, but the investigation revealed he had repeatedly attended the residence and continued contacting the complainant despite being told the contact was unwanted.
Police also allege the accused assaulted the victim in August 2025, causing minor injuries, and had previously been cautioned for criminal harassment. He was arrested later that morning and charged with criminal harassment and assault.
The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
