Despite winter conditions, residents turned out Saturday afternoon for the CBD Club’s annual chili cookoff in Wallaceburg.
The event was held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the club on Dufferin Avenue and attracted a steady stream of visitors looking to break up the mid-winter routine. Attendees sampled a variety of chili entries while also taking part in raffles and visiting a margarita booth and prize table set up for the occasion.
Organizers said the turnout remained strong throughout the afternoon and described the atmosphere as upbeat and social. The club thanked everyone who contributed to the event, from those who prepared chili to those who came out to sample the dishes or spend time visiting with friends.
According to organizers, the cookoff once again served as a popular winter gathering for the Wallaceburg community.
