OPP officials allege: Two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries after two transport trucks collided on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent earlier this week.
Ontario Provincial Police, along with Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Medical Services, responded to the two-vehicle collision in the westbound lanes near the Orford Road exit at approximately 6:15 a.m. on Monday, March 9.
Police said the drivers of both vehicles were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The Ministry of the Environment attended the scene due to a significant diesel spill caused by the crash.
Following the investigation, a 52-year-old from Ingersoll was charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
Highway 401 was closed for several hours while emergency crews conducted the investigation and cleared the roadway.
