Wallaceburg minor baseball players help clean local diamond ahead of season

Players with the Wallaceburg Minor Baseball Association spent part of their weekend preparing their home diamond for the upcoming season.

The association said members of its 13U OBA team, led by head coach Bill Bunda, traded their baseball equipment for rakes and wheelbarrows to help clean and maintain the field.

Players spent the morning raking leaves and weeding the diamond as part of a community cleanup effort ahead of the summer baseball season.

“This is what community looks like — teamwork, pride, and giving back to the fields that give us so much,” the association said in a social media post.

The association praised the players for taking pride in the diamonds they use throughout the season.
