The Chatham-Kent Police Service says its Auxiliary Unit continues to play a key role in supporting community engagement and public safety initiatives across the municipality.
Over the past year, Auxiliary members volunteered more than 5,500 hours and supported 71 community events, helping strengthen connections between police and residents throughout Chatham-Kent.
The service says the volunteer members assist at a wide range of public events and initiatives designed to enhance community policing and visibility.
According to police, 13 Auxiliary members have also gone on to pursue careers in policing, transitioning their volunteer experience into full-time roles with the Chatham-Kent Police Service.
The unit is made up of volunteers who work alongside frontline officers in non-enforcement roles to support events, programs and community outreach efforts.
