Chatham man charged following alleged break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: The Chatham-Kent Police Service charged a 38-year-old Chatham man following an alleged break and enter at a residence on Lorne Avenue in Chatham.

Police said officers responded to a disturbance call on May 20, 2026, at about 11:30 a.m. Through investigation, officers learned a male suspect had allegedly entered the residence and caused damage to property.

Officers located and arrested the suspect a short distance away without incident.

The accused was charged with break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence and mischief under $5,000.

Police said the accused was transported to police headquarters and held for bail.
