A garage fire on Grande River Line caused an estimated $250,000 in damage Tuesday evening, but firefighters were able to prevent the blaze from spreading beyond the structure.

Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue crews from Stations 1 and 2 in Chatham were dispatched at approximately 6:30 p.m. to a fully involved garage fire at 7631 Grande River Line.
Two callback crews were initiated to assist with the response. Units 1-11, 2-14, 1-13 and Support 1 attended the scene.
Firefighters launched what officials described as a rapid fire attack, achieving a quick knockdown of the flames and successfully confining the fire to the garage.
Two vehicles were inside the garage at the time of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
The estimated loss to the garage and its contents is approximately $250,000.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
