Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 25-year-old Chatham woman is facing multiple charges after an alleged assault on a police officer during a patrol in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were conducting a focused patrol on Pine Street at about 12:45 a.m. on June 30 when an officer was approached by an agitated woman.
Police allege the woman struck the officer in the chest. She sustained minor injuries during her arrest and was taken to hospital for assessment.
The woman was charged with assaulting a peace officer, resisting a peace officer and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
