LAKESHORE, ON — A single-vehicle crash has closed West Belle River Road between County Road 42 and Parklane Drive in the Municipality of Lakeshore following a fatal collision early Saturday morning.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Essex County Detachment, Lakeshore Fire Department and Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services responded to the crash at approximately 3:50 a.m. on July 25, 2026. The driver of the vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team is assisting with the investigation. Police are asking anyone who was travelling on West Belle River Road between County Road 42 and Parklane Drive in Belle River and witnessed the vehicle involved in the collision, or who has relevant information such as dash camera or video surveillance footage, to contact Essex County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
