Woman charged after vehicle collides with semi-trailer on Prince Albert Road

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 24-year-old woman has been charged with impaired and dangerous driving after her vehicle collided with a semi-trailer on Prince Albert Road in Chatham early Friday morning.

Chatham-Kent police responded to a report of a collision at approximately 12:03 a.m. on Aug. 21. The investigation found the woman had been driving northbound in the southbound lane and swerving on the roadway before her vehicle struck the rear of a semi-trailer. No injuries were reported.

The woman was arrested for impaired driving and taken to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters for further breath testing, where she provided two samples above the legal limit.

She was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, and operation with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 milligrams or more of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.

She was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 29.
