A last-minute mayoral candidate has joined the race in Chatham-Kent.
April Colby filed her nomination papers on Friday, August 21, 2026, the final day candidates could file for the election.
She is the seventh person to file for the position of mayor.
Colby joins current Chatham-Kent Councillors Lauren Anderson and Michael Bondy, Nelson Burm, Ryan Gow, former mayor Randy Hope and incumbent Mayor Darrin Canniff on the mayoral ballot.
Election day is Monday, October 26, 2026.
