Chatham woman charged with mischief after noise complaints

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Chatham woman has been charged with mischief after police responded to an ongoing noise complaint at an address on McNaughton Avenue West.

Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded Wednesday at approximately 8:55 p.m. after several neighbours reported repeated disturbances involving loud yelling, screaming and banging coming from the residence. Officers spoke with multiple residents who described the disturbances as ongoing and occurring frequently, including during overnight hours.

Following the investigation, a 36-year-old Chatham woman was charged with one count of mischief for obstructing, interrupting or interfering with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property.

The accused was released on an appearance notice with a future court date of Nov. 24, 2026.
