McArthur grabs cross country silver
Wallaceburg’s Taylor McArthur captured a silver medal on Sunday, as the Windsor Lancers cross country team competed in the 2016 Ontario University Athletics (OUA) championship.
McArthur finished 29th overall and 6th on the Lancers with a time of 32:06.4 in the men’s 10k event.
Overall, the Lancers finished with 60 points, second only to Western University, who finished with 53 points.
McArthur and the Lancers will head to the CIS championships on November 12.
The event is being held in Quebec City.
Fall football tryouts
The Sarnia Imperials are hosting their first ever fall try outs for the upcoming 2017 season.
The team will be hosting a one day event at Norm Perry Park on November 6 at 1 p.m. sharp to anyone who may be interested in playing semi-pro football.
Each position will be assessed through various drills associated with that specific position.
Players interested are asked to show up a half hour before the start of the try out (12:30 p.m.) to get themselves registered.
This event is free of charge and is being held by the Sarnia Imperials football organization.
Griffith suiting up for Toronto
Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith will be in action for the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight, when they host the Edmonton Oilers.
Griffith has skated in three games so far with Toronto, registering no points and an even +/-.
Puck drops at 7:30 p.m. at the Air Canada Centre.
