New co-chairs being announced for the United Way

The general public is invited to attend United Way’s Annual General Meeting at “The 425” – United Way’s Centre for Community Innovation on Wednesday, 2013 April 30 at 5:30 p.m.

The late afternoon meeting will commence at 5:30 p.m. with a social gathering and light refreshments.

At 6:30 p.m. the official welcome by President Tony Walsh will be followed by a brief business meeting and introduction of new board members.

The evening will also include appreciation to 2013 campaign co-chairs, William Grin and Cecily Coppola, and introduction of the 2014 campaign co-chairs and their campaign team.

Highlights of community impact work undertaken in 2013 and planned for 2014 will be provided by United Way’s CEO, Karen Kirkwood-Whyte.

Featured speaker for this year’s AGM will be Lori Newton.

Her address is entitled “Engaging Youth – For a Better World”.

Lori is a communications consultant in Windsor. She teaches public relations at the St. Clair College MediaPlex and works extensively with non-profits and community organizations. She believes youth engagement is the key for the health and long term vitality of community organizations.
