Goose Feathers in Wallaceburg, offers a wide range of products and they all have at least one thing in common – they’re top quality.

“When I go to a supplier and I am selecting products, I’m selecting ones that I believe will be viable in Wallaceburg,” said owner Sally Mahoney. “I always ask them what their best selling colours or shades or whatever component is with that product. I only want the best selling ones. I don’t want the ones at the bottom of the list because my customers deserve better than that.”

Sally said they carry name brand products at the 206 Wellington Street location.

“We go to name brand, we carry Reallite candles, we carry their best selling colours and sizes… they are the best flameless candle on the market,” she said. “Kameleon Jewelry, this is the ladies second best selling jewelry line, next to Pandora, it’s a Canadian designed product and all the stones are interchangeable. It gives the recipient an opportunity to change the stones to the colour of their outfit, match their mood. Kitras hand blow friendship spheres, Trees of of Enchantment, they are hand blown in Fergus, Ontario.”

Sally added: “Just with those two products alone, I try to focus on Canadian-made products as much as possible. After that my next category of selection is fair trade and there is goes to what will sell in Wallaceburg and what is a quality item that gives value to the customer for what they are buying.”

Another popular product Goose Feather’s carries are the pepper jellies from Perth.

“It’s made out of Perth, Ontario,” Sally said. “It’s a standard item and again we only bring in their best-selling flavours. The lady that owns the company is not only a trained chef, but she is also a food chemist. She designs and formulates all her creations for these pepper jellies.

Sally added: “They are outstanding. We have one flavour called smoky el paso, and it is peppers mixed with a smokey flavour. It’s phenomenal with salmon, grilled salmon, pork or chicken. The best selling one is the mango ginger, it is outstanding. It’s awesome with goat cheese… it’s an excellent combination.”

Sally said overall she doesn’t mark prices up as much as she is suppose to.

“Wallaceburg’s economy can’t support that. I do want Wallaceburg people to have an opportunity to have these products. That is one of my objectives in this business, I don’t need to get rich from it.
