Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Chatham-Kent.
Officials say severe thunderstorm conditions are possible from late evening to overnight.
Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts.
Meteorologists are monitoring a line of severe thunderstorms which will cross Lake Michigan by 7:30 pm. This line is expected to cross Michigan state this evening and reach the Windsor area around midnight. Severe winds and intense lightning are expected to be the primary threats.
Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.
