Wallaceburg man facing sexual assault and weapons charges

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following an investigation regarding domestic violence.

On Sunday, July 20 around 4:30 a.m. police say the man and his girlfriend engaged in a verbal argument.

The incident allegedly escalated into a physical altercation which involved the man pointing a BB gun at her.

Through investigation, police learned that the man was currently bound by a weapons prohibition order.

The 26-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with:

– Assault x3

– Assault Causing Bodily Harm

– Overcoming Resistance to Commit an Offence x2

– Uttering Threats x4

– Sexual Assault

– Possession of a Firearm contrary to Prohibition Order

– Pointing a Firearm

– Weapons Dangerous

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
