Wallaceburg Satans name not set in stone?

The new name for Wallaceburg’s new Senior ‘B’ lacrosse team may not be set in stone.

Team officials announced last week that the name of the team was going to be called the Wallaceburg Satans.

“It has been a week since we released the new team name for the Wallaceburg Sr. B lacrosse team,” Steve Lilley, president of the team, stated on the teams website. “Over the past week, we have come to understand that, while some in the community support the name and tradition, there are those that do not agree with the name.

Lilley added: “Being such a small and tight-knit community, Wallaceburg and our brand new Sr. B team needs all the support it can get. With that said, the executive and myself are open to taking suggestions for what you believe the new Sr. B team should be called.”

The Wallaceburg team became a reality when the Sarnia Beavers announced last month that they were moving their organization to Wallaceburg.
