Woman attacked in Sarnia

Sarnia Police are investigating a report of an attack on a young woman in the Kathleen and East area. It is alleged to have occurred between approximately 10:30 PM and 11:15 PM on Monday, November 24, 2014.

The young lady reported the attack occurred in a commercial alleyway near this intersection.

She was forced to the ground by an unknown male.

The assailant is reported to have been able to partially disrobe the victim, when she was on the ground, but he was scared off by a passerby who shouted at him.

The assailant is reported to have fled on foot northbound on East Street.

The passerby who scared off the assailant is described as a female who got in to a Ford Taurus or similar type vehicle, and drove away after the suspect ran from the scene.

The assailant is described as:

– Male, tall in stature;

– Short dark hair;

– Wearing dark leather coat that extended to at least the mid-thigh;

– Also wearing jeans, and light-colored running shoes

Investigators wish to talk to any person who may have witnessed this event, or who may have any information relative to it. Further, police would like to speak with the female party who scared the assailant away from the scene.
