Last night, the Chatham-Kent Police Service kicked off the Festive RIDE season with spot checks on Lacroix Street then later on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.

A total of 592 vehicles were stopped and four (4) roadside screening tests were conducted. Two drivers were charged with driving while under suspension and officers seized marijuana from two vehicles.

With the holiday season quickly approaching, motorists are reminded that officers will be conducting RIDE spot checks now through until New Years. Please don’t drink and drive.
