Emergency crews are at the scene of a single vehicle crash between Dresden and Wallaceburg.

Sources say a vehicle has wrapped around a tree in front of a residence at 7875 McCreary Line (Hwy. 78.)

The single occupant of the vehicle has suffered undisclosed injuries, sources say.

Tupperville firefighters were the first to arrive on scene just after 10:30 p.m., while Chatham-Kent Police and EMS arrived shortly after.

No word on what caused the crash, however Environment Canada has issued a special weather advisory for Chatham-Kent and area.

“First significant snow of the season by Sunday morning for some areas of Southern and Central Ontario,” Environment Canada officials said. “A deepening low pressure area from Texas will bring the first significant snowfall of the season tonight to many parts of Southern Ontario.”

Environment Canada officials say for Windsor and Sarnia through London, Kitchener, Newmarket and Peterborough to Renfrew, “these regions will be near the rain-snow boundary with this Texas low.

“Hence snowfall amounts will vary considerably, with snow amounts of 10 to 15 cm expected over northwestern parts, to only a couple cm in areas further southeast where more rain will fall. Latest indications suggest that 4 to 8 cm of snow will fall across most Major communities in this swath by Sunday morning,” Environment Canada officials stated.

“Poor winter driving conditions from low visibility in areas of heavier snow and accumulating snow on untreated highways are expected across these regions tonight. Motorists should adjust travel plans accordingly.”

We’ll provide more information when it becomes available.
