The new year will bring some changes to the garbage collection schedule in Wallaceburg, Dresden and other parts of Chatham-Kent.
“With the recent implementation of the garbage toter cart program by Progressive Waste Solutions, the amount of time it takes to service curbside communities has been reduced,” municipal officials stated.
As a result, PWS has decided to change garbage collection days in the following communities effective January 4th, 2016:
– Howard (South of Hwy. 401 including Bates Subdivision and Morpeth)
– Merlin
– Rondeau Bay Estates
The garbage collection in Dresden will be changing from Friday to Tuesday.
In Wallaceburg, garbage collection will be on Friday all across town.
There are no changes to recycling collection days in any curbside community.
The new 2016 Recycling and Waste Collection Guide will be delivered to homes starting sometime the week of December 14th, however it will take up to two weeks before everyone has received a calendar.
