On December 23, we posted a letter to the editor, “Letter: Injured dog in serious need”.
The story of the 1-year old Alaskan Malamute/ lab mix named Tolouse reached thousands of people and touched many of them.
In just 24 hours a total of $3,500 was raised for Tolouse’s vet bills.
A man from Windsor read about the fundraising effort on the Sydenham Current, called the vet and donated $1,000 on his credit card.
Tolouse got home on Monday.
His right leg had a cast change and his lungs are good now.
Sue Arends with the Wallaceburg Animal Shelter said he’s an amazing dog and the family is grateful for all the help.
