Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith has been recalled, on an emergency basis, by the Boston Bruins.
Don Sweeney, the Bruins GM, made the announcement, on Wednesday night March 30, after the team was missing three injured forwards at Wednesday’s practice.
The team also recalled forward Austin Czarnik.
Both players were set to join Boston on Wednesday for their 11 a.m. practice in Wilmington.
Griffith has played in 51 games with Providence in 2015-16, recording 22 goals and 45 assists for 67 points with 32 penalty minutes and a plus-12 rating.
The 23-year-old forward leads the AHL in assists and is third in the league in points this season.
In 2014-15, he skated in 39 games, tallying 12 goals and 19 assists for 31 points, and in his first season with the P-Bruins in 2013-14, the 5’9”, 191-pound forward posted 20 goals and 30 assists for 50 points in 69 games.
Griffith has also appeared in 32 games with the Boston Bruins over two seasons from 2014-16, totaling six goals and five assists for 11 points.
Griffith was originally drafted by the Bruins in the fifth round (131st overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
Boston’s next game is Friday in St. Louis.
