The Chatham-Kent Police Service has laid assault charges, following an alleged case of domestic violence.
Police officials say at approximately 6 p.m. on April 2, officers responded to a residence on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg with regards to a domestic disturbance.
The victim advised police that she had been assaulted by her partner.
The male party was located a short time later during a traffic stop.
Through investigation the victim disclosed historical domestic violence incidents.
A 20-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with seven counts of domestic related assault and assault with a weapon.
The man was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
