The Dresden Terry Fox Run continues to grow each and every year, strengthening along the way.
The 2015 results have been received from the provincial Terry Fox Foundation and local organizers are thrilled with the news.
“The first landmark reached was the achievement of collecting over a half-million dollars in twenty years for cancer research ($501,187.88),” said Cindy Brewer, local organizer in a press release.
“The 2015 Terry Fox Run was the 35th Anniversary of the National Terry Fox Run and Dresden was celebrating their 20th year in the community. A record amount of $41,962.85 was raised on this anniversary by 383 participants and volunteers.
Brewer added: “Perhaps the most significant accomplishment of this community run is the standing on the Top 20 Ontario Community Runs per capita. The Dresden Terry Fox Run soared up this list and proudly holds the number one spot.”
The dates have been set for this year’s Terry Fox Run and the committee looks forward to welcoming another enthusiastic crowd on Sunday, September 18, Brewer said.
