Crash closes portion of Hwy. 40

A crash closed a portion of Hwy. 40 on Saturday afternoon near Sarnia.

On September 10, 2016 at approximately 1:00 p.m. members of the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the intersection of #40 Highway at Petrolia Line to investigate a motor vehicle collision.

As a result of the collision, one of the motor vehicles left the Highway and struck a traffic control light standard, rendering the traffic signal control box inoperable.

As a result, the OPP, to ensure public safety, have closed north and south #40 Highway until the control box can be replaced.

#40 Highway was set to be re-routed at LaSalle and Rokeby Lines.

Petrolia Line will remain open for west and east bound traffic.

Currently, the OPP are on scene investigating the cause of the collision.

The OPP will make notification once the traffic signals are functional and #40 Highway has re-opened.

Neither of the involved persons have reported any injuries.
