A Sarnia man faces charges after allegedly stealing 10 cases of empty beer bottles.
Chatham-Kent police officials say this morning, just before 5:00 a.m. an observant citizen contacted police regarding a suspicious man riding a bicycle pulling a wooden dolly with several cases of beer on Charing Cross Road near Seventh Line.
Police located the man who was in possession of approximately 10 cases of empty beer bottles.
Through investigation police found broken beer bottles leading back to South Side Tap and Grill.
Officers checked the business and a shed was found to have been entered.
The man was arrested and upon being searched incident to arrest, was also found to be in possession of a check book in the name of residents on Charing Cross Road.
The owners were contacted and advised that at no time was anyone given permission to be in possession of their cheques.
The 25-year-old Sarnia man has been charged with break and enter and two counts of possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
