Lakers fall to Flags

The Wallaceburg Lakers fell to the Mooretown Flags on Wednesday night, by a score of 5-1.

Trevor Waller scored the Lakers’ lone goal.

George Hill made 42 saves in the loss, he also chipped in with an assist on Waller’s goal.

Wallaceburg’s record falls to 1-15-1, last place in the Stobbs Division.

The Lakers will be off until next Wednesday, when they host Wheatley.

Puck drops at the usual time 7:30 p.m.

Tartans heading to the finals

The Wallaceburg Tartans junior girls basketball team is heading to the ‘AA’ final, after an impressive semi-final win on Wednesday in Wallaceburg.

The Tartans topped the McGregor Panthers 45-6.

Laura Marcus led the way with 12 points, while Samantha St. Croix chipped in with 6 points.

Wallaceburg will host the Lambton Central Lancers on Saturday in the final at 4 p.m.

In senior action, the Tartans will host the championship game against the McGregor Panthers on Saturday as well.

They tip off at 6 p.m.

Cardinals cruise to finals

The Lambton-Kent Cardinals are heading to the championship in senior boys ‘A’ volleyball.

The Cards topped the Blenheim Bobcats in the semi-finals on Wednesday in Dresden.

L-K won three straight games, 25-23, 25-15, and 25-22.

The Chatham Christian Flames will visit Dresden on Friday night at 6:30 p.m.

In junior action, the Cardinals lost three straight games to Pain Court in their semi-final contest.
