Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith is heading to the ‘Sunshine State’.

Dale Tallon, the President of Hockey Operations for the Florida Panthers, announced today that the Panthers have claimed Griffith off of waivers from the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Panthers officials say Griffith is expected to join the club on their upcoming road trip, beginning Nov. 15 vs. the Montreal Canadiens.

The 23-year old winger played in three games this season with Toronto, who waived him on Friday.

During the 2015-16 season Griffith recorded 77 points (24-53-77) in 57 games with the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.

His 77 points ranked him second in AHL scoring, while his 53 assists ranked him first in the league. In the 2016 Calder Cup Playoffs, Griffith recorded three points (1-2-3) in three postseason games.

Griffith has played in 37 NHL games with the Toronto Maple Leafs (2016-17) and Boston Bruins (2014-16) recording 11 points (6-5-11).

The 5-foot-9, 191-pound former London Knight was originally selected by the Boston Bruins in the fifth round (131st overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.
