An arrest has been made after a break-in and theft, which targeted the Pet and Wildlife Rescue (PAWR) group.

Police officials say on November 11, a break and enter occurred at a residence on Edgar Street in Chatham at which time a large quantity of pet items were stolen.

These items were to be used by PAWR at the animal shelter in Chatham.

Yesterday evening officers attended a different residence on Edgar Street for an unrelated call.

At that time a number of the stolen pet items from the previous break and enter were located and recovered.

Through investigation officers determined that the items had been brought to the residence earlier that morning by a male party.

A 31-year-old Chatham man has been arrested and charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000.

He has been released with a future court date of December 2.
