A pair of Wallaceburg lacrosse players have made the final cuts this year for the National Lacrosse League’s Vancouver Stealth.

Jordan Durston will be back with the squad, along with veteran goalie Tye Belanger.

The Stealth announced their opening rosters on Monday.

“I wanted to make conditioning a priority,” stated Head Coach and Assistant General Manager Jamie Batley in a press release.

“From minute one, I wanted the guys to know that this was going to be a tough camp,” said . “I was extremely pleased with how the guys reacted and after the tough decisions we made this past weekend I am confident we have a team that is capable of playing the fast-paced tempo we plan to play.”

In his rookie season last year with Vancouver, Durston finished with 17 goals and 21 assists in 17 games.

Belanger was acquired by the Stealth in a trade back in October.

Belanger played the last two seasons with the New England Black Wolves. Before that he spent three season with Colorado, debuting in the NLL back in 2012.

“I am really pleased with the compete level the guys showed over the last several weeks of camp and I am looking forward to the new season,” stated President and General Manager Doug Locker.

“Obviously, we had some difficult decisions, as every team in our league has, but our staff did a tremendous job evaluating each player very thoroughly and this team has the tools to compete at the highest levels of our league.”

Vancouver will visit Calgary in their season debut on January 6.
