Mrs. Catherine Irene Gibbons, of Wallaceburg, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Public General Campus, in Chatham, at the age of 72.
Cathy was born in Thamesville, Ontario and was a daughter of the late James and Vera (Law) Greenwood.
Beloved companion of Buck Hanson.
Loving mother of Charlene (Jim) Zruna, Robert (Kristy) Krisza, Jake Hanson (Tracy), Jeff Hanson, Louanne Gibbons and Tammy Duquette.
Sadly missed by her grandchildren Jake, Jennifer, Christina, Brandon, Kelsey, Owen, Riley, Mikayla, Brooklynn, Gabriel, Amy and Keith.
Also missed by her special K-9 friend, Coco.
Kind sister and sister-in-law of Doug (Sandy) Greenwood and Judy Greenwood.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by a son Ricky Gibbons, a granddaughter Lisa, a brother Charles Greenwood and a nephew Kirk Greenwood.
The late Catherine Gibbons rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.
Cremation will take place.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Moose Lodge, in Wallaceburg (110 Duke Street), from 1-4 p.m.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Spina Bifida Association or the Lung Association may be left at the funeral home.
