Multiple break-ins at St. Clair Township camp ground

Police are asking for information from the public after several trailers were broken into at a St. Clair Township camp ground.

On Saturday December 31, the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was dispatched to an address on Emily Street in St. Clair Township, regarding a break, enter and theft.

At just after 10 a.m., the Lambton County OPP responded to a report of a break, enter and theft at a camp ground located in the 1000 block of Emily Street.

Upon arrival, police were informed that at some time between approximately 2 p.m. December 30 and 10 a.m., December 31, unknown persons forced entry into a locked trailer by breaking a window in the trailer door and unlocking the door from the inside. OPP conducted a walk through the camp ground and identified approximately 34 units that had been entered in the same manner.

Various electronics were reported as stolen from the scene.

Total value of stolen property is unknown however the investigation is ongoing.

The West Region Forensic Identification Unit was requested and did attend to assist with the investigation.

The Lambton OPP Street Crime Unit was also requested and will be assisting with the investigation.
