OPP officials say 29-year-old Ashley Kerr died after a two vehicle crash on Longwoods Road at around 6:40 a.m. on Tuesday.

A GoFundMe page has been launched by Ashley’s friends and family to help offset the cost for a funeral, following her sudden death.

“As many have you have heard we lost a dear friend, wife(basically), mother, cousin, sister and daughter today,” posted Sarah Stasse, who created the online fundraising page.

“Ashley was such an amazing person who would quite literally give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. Ashley is leaving behind two beautiful children, a 10-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter, who will miss her dearly. Anything that you can spare to help out the family in this time is more appreciated than you know.”

Dresden resident Stephanie Borian told the Sydenham Current her cousin Ashley, who lived in Bothwell, was an amazing mother and a great friend.

“Her smile could light up a room,” she said.

“My heart is very heavy today, thinking it’s all a dream, but it’s not.”

Crash investigation on-going

Police officials say the investigation is still continuing into the cause of the fatal collision.

The male party, whose 2001 Black Chevrolet Silverado collided with the 2003 Silver Chevrolet Cavalier being driven by Ashley, has since been released from hospital.

Longwoods Road has been reopened to traffic between Davis St. and Dogwood road.

Charges are pending the completion of the investigation, police officials say.

Anyone in the area of the collision with further information is asked to contact the Middlesex County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), where you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.

  1. I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Ashley Kerr. My wife passed away in a similar fatality on countryview road last October. I know that by uniting and supporting each other is a great way to begin the process of accepting what has happened. I wish deeply that you may not allow this tragedy to consume you with dark or negative thoughts but that you make it an opportunity to give more value to the relationships and time with the loved ones we have the blessing of having in our everyday lives and allow yourselves the time and the means to appreciate these relationships for they are the most wonderful gift we have and will ever receive. May God and Peace be with you all through this time.
