Stolen vehicle discovered, Sarnia man arrested

A Sarnia man was charged after a stolen vehicle was discovered in Chatham-Kent.

Police officials say officers attended the corner of Prince Albert Sideroad and Meadowvale Line for a possible vehicle fire over the weekend.

Police say witnesses pointed to a man running from the vehicle and through a field.

The suspect was located on a nearby property and detained at the scene, police say.

The truck the suspect was allegedly running from was found to be stolen from Bothwell two months ago, and it also had stolen licence plates on it.

Officers arrested the Sarnia man, who turned out to be wanted by the Chatham-Kent Police Service.

He was later released with a future court date.
